EcoViewer is a free, open-access platform developed by a team based in Australia. We are committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what information is collected when you use EcoViewer, how it is used, and your rights under Australian privacy law.

EcoViewer does not require account creation and does not collect personal information directly. However, because the application is built on Google Earth Engine and this website is hosted via GitHub Pages, certain data may be processed by those third-party platforms.

2. Information We Collect

EcoViewer itself does not collect, store, or process any personally identifiable information. We do not have login functionality, user accounts, or contact forms that transmit data to our own servers.

The following may be collected passively by third-party services:

  • GitHub Pages (hosting provider) may log standard web server data such as IP addresses and browser user agents as part of normal hosting operations.
  • Google Fonts is loaded from Google's servers and may collect request metadata per Google's standard data practices.
  • Google Earth Engine (the underlying application platform) is operated by Google LLC and is governed by Google's Privacy Policy. When you use the EcoViewer app, your interaction with it occurs within Google Earth Engine's infrastructure.

3. Cookies

EcoViewer does not set any first-party cookies. Third-party services (Google Fonts, Google Earth Engine) may set their own cookies. Please see our Cookie Policy for more detail.

4. How Information Is Used

We do not use any personal data for marketing, profiling, or commercial purposes. Any data passively collected by third-party infrastructure is governed entirely by those providers' privacy policies.

5. Data Storage and Transfer

This website is hosted via GitHub Pages (operated by GitHub, Inc., USA). The EcoViewer application runs on Google Earth Engine (Google LLC, USA). By using the platform, you acknowledge that your interaction data may be processed in the United States under the data practices of those providers.

6. Your Rights

Under the Australian Privacy Act 1988, you have the right to access and correct personal information held about you. Because EcoViewer does not collect or store personal data directly, most requests should be directed to the relevant third-party service (GitHub or Google).
